Hormuz Strait
#1
Ever since Iran's revolution, it has threatened to close the strait to all traffic, in order to threaten peaceful trade among it's neighbors, and those who need oil throughout the world.

Now that the stranglehold over oil in general, and Persian Gulf oil in particular, has ended, I believe that the strait will be closed soon, but not by the Iranians.

Closing the strait now would primarily harm China, as that's who has been buying Iranian oil at a discount.

Now that the USA has proven oil reserves, and the ability to produce our own oil needs, coupled with the ongoing trade war with China, is it possible that the strait will be closed by someone else?
